Arij Leijerszn was born in May 1663 in Nieuw-Beijerland and his baptism took place there on May 30th, 1663.1   His godfather was Domenicus Dircszn Troost. Arij Leijerszn's father was Laijer Dirckszn Troost and his mother was Willempje Ariensdr N.N..  His paternal grandparents were Dirck Domenicus Jans Lijerszn Troost and Lijsbeth Leendertsdr Oppervelt.  He was an only child.  He died at the age of 96 on November 16th, 1759 in Middelharnis.2
