- Photo shows the south side of the High Street and the junction with St Peter's Street. The High Street consisted of two storey back to back houses with tunnels leading to the courtyard. The Turkish baths on the High Street advertise baths for 6d. Russian and Sulphur baths are also available. The corner house had been converted to a grocer's shop. There are adverts on the wall for Oxo, Nestles Milk, Milkmaid Milk and Dewar's whisky.
