Padmavanti Bai was born on October 8th, 1934 in Diu. Padmavanti Bai's father was Jivanlal Monji and her mother was Kamala Bai Karamchand. Her paternal grandparents were Monji Kanji and Harakh <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents were Karamchand Rugnath and Ratan Bai Ghela. She had five brothers and three sisters, named Vassantlal, Ramesh, Bhupendra (Bipin), Kirankumar, Lalitkumar, Manjulagauri bai, Kumudini and Kusum. She is the second oldest of the nine children.
