Laxmikant's father is Shamaldas Harichand [Samaldas Arichand] and his mother is Pushpa Bhagvandas.  His paternal grandparents are Harichand (Dahya) [Arichand] and Manekbai [Manecbai]; his maternal grandparents were Bhagvandas Ramchand and Ujambai. He had a brother and four sisters, named Manikant, Jayminibala, Gunvanti, Vanita and Vilash.
