Laxmi's father is Panachand Motichand and her mother is Matubai Manekchand.  Her paternal grandparents are Motichand Karamchand and <Unknown>; her maternal grandparents are Manekchand and Premi. She has two brothers and two sisters, named Jassvantlal, Nandlal, Narabda (Nadi) and Pramila.  She is the second youngest of the five children.
