Was the first constable of Watertown, being made so by the Court, September, 1630, and was adm. freeman, May 18, 1631. "..was from Dedham county, Essex, with wife/2 children, whose sufferings in the first winter were duly thought of by his former minister, blessed John Rogers." His house was burn, April 21, 1631. They moved to Groton, Massachusetts in 1662 where he was a selectman. After the burning of Groton in King Philip's War in 1675, he returned to Watertown.
