Pvt Eleazer Durand

Eleazer was born on October 5th, 1754 in Derby.¹ Eleazer's father was Mr Joseph Durand and his mother was Mrs Ann Tomlinson. His paternal grandparents were Dr John Durand and Mrs Elizabeth Bryan; his maternal grandparents were Sgt Isaac Tomlinson and Mrs Patience Gaylord. He had four brothers and a sister, named Isaac, Samuel, Joseph, Noah and Ann. He died at the age of 78 on June 21st, 1833 in New Berlin. His burial was at the St. Andrew's Churchyard.

General Notes
- Eleazer Durand served for three years as a private in active service with Connecticut troops in the Revolutionary War. He was in Capt. Leavenworth's Co., Col. Meigs' Regiment. He received a pension under the Act of Congress, 1818, for his war service, S45354. The family is said to have moved to Pittsfield, New York."
