Benjamin, known as Rutty, was born in 1795 in NY. Rutty's father was Barnett Stilwell and his mother was Lydia Fay. His paternal grandparents were John Stilwell and Ann Cummings; his maternal grandparents were Isaac Fay and Keziah Doane. He had a brother and two sisters, named Barnett, Lois and Mary. He was the second oldest of the four children.-
