Richard was born in October 1841 in Port Elizabeth.  Richard's father was Richard Tee and his mother was Susan Rudy Walker.  His paternal grandparents were Richard Tee and Sarah Potter. He had a brother named John.  He was the older of the two children.  He died at the age of 55 on June 26th, 1897.
