John Murrell

John was born on February 2nd, 1824 in Rayleigh and his baptism took place there on February 29th, 1824. John's father was John Murrell and his mother was Mary Collings. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Murrell and Mary Ann Lawrence. He had four brothers and a sister, named Joseph, Henry, George, William and Mary. He was the second oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 49 on June 25th, 1873 in Port Elizabeth. His burial was in St Mary's Cemetery, Port Elizabeth.
