Florence Gladys, known as Floss //, was born on March 18th, 1888 in Aliwal North, South Africa.  Floss //'s father was William Ralph Gilbert and her mother was Annie Bellaby Murrell.  Her paternal grandfather is Henry Gilbert and her paternal grandmother was Isabella Unknown; her maternal grandparents were George Murrell and Annie Scott. She had three brothers named Quickie //, George Murrell and Henry.  She was the youngest of the four children.  She died at the age of 88 on August 12th, 1976.
