Alexander William was born on November 3rd, 1816.  Alexander William's father was Robert Crozier and his mother was Johanna Magdalena Van Ryneveld.  His paternal grandparents are John Crozier and Mary Henderson; his maternal grandparents were Willem Stephanus Van Ryneveld and Martha Cornelius Van Der Riet. He had three brothers and a sister, named John Henderson, Robert James, Dupre and Martha Mary Johanna.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died at 1 months old on December 17th, 1816.
