Abigail was born in 1816 in Whittlebury, Northamptonshire and her christening took place there on May 5th, 1816.1 2   Abigail's father was Joseph Whitlock and her mother was Christiana Durham. She had a brother and a sister, named James and Elizabeth.  She was the oldest of the three children.
