Ann was born on August 5th, 1855 in Ellerton, Yorkshire.1   Ann's father was John Laverack and her mother was Mary Adamson.  Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Adamson and Ann Saunderson. She had a brother and a sister, named William and Sarah.  She was the oldest of the three children.  She died at the age of 49 in December 1904 in Wakefield, Yorkshire.2
