Thomas was born in 1620 in Arreton, Isle of Wight.1   Thomas' father was Edmund Groves and his mother was Mary.  His paternal grandparents were Edmund Groves and <Unknown>. He had two brothers named Edmund and Robert.  He was the second oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 59 on February 15th, 1679 in Newchurch, Isle of Wight.1
