Jessie was born in 1891 in Newport Pagnall, Buckinghamshire. Jessie's father was Thomas MOSELEY and her mother was Hannah BRITTEN. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named Thomas, William, Walter, Arthur, John, Sidney, Joe, Elizabeth, Ellen, Ada and Minnie.  She was the third youngest of the twelve children.
