James was born on July 30th, 1874 in Hull, Yorkshire.1  James' father was Henry BROWN and his mother was Eliza ROBINSON.  His paternal grandparents were John BROWN and Fanny <UNKNOWN>; his maternal grandparents were William ROBINSON and Elizabeth JEPHCOTE. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Henry, John, Sarah and Hannah.  He was the third oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 80 on October 21st, 1954 in Kingston-Upon-Hull, Yorkshire.  He was buried on October 25th, 1954 in Kingston-Upon-Hull, Yorkshire.2 2
