Vera was born on May 26th, 1897 in Polesworth, Warwickshire.1  Vera's father was Charles John ASTON and her mother was Alice Allen LOVE. She had four brothers and three sisters, named William, Charles, Wilfred, Arthur, Doris, Annie and Alice.  She was the second oldest of the eight children.  She died at the age of 79 on February 27th, 1977 in Carlton Hayes Hospital, Narborough, Leicestershire.2
