Amália's father was Marcilio  Alves Xavier and her mother was Celina Schleder de Quadros.  Her paternal grandparents were Joaquim Alves Xavier and Paulina Alves Flor; her maternal grandparents were José Schleder and Amalia de Quadros Schleder.  She was an only child.  She died at the age of 91 on August 6th, 2004 in Carazinho.
