Elie was born on October 20th, 1907 in Ruboticze, East Galicia, Austro Hungary.  Elie's father was David Rubinfeld and his mother was Sara Pesel Soler. He had a brother and a sister, named Yehoshua and Chaya. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Leib, Israel, Yona Eugeen, Ziwia and Ita.  He died at the age of 83 in 1990 in Paris, France.
