Leibel was born in 1918.  Leibel's father was Israel Itzhak and his mother was Chaya Lea Kornhandler.  His paternal grandparents were Hersch Fishel Skura and Deborah; his maternal grandparents were Chaim Neta Kornhandler and Sara Rivka. He had a brother and two sisters, named Abraham, Deborah and Rachel.  He died at the age of 25 in 1943.
