Yaakov, known as Yanek, was born on September 15th, 1939.  Yanek's father was Salomon (Salo) Katz and his mother was Ronia Kraut.  His paternal grandparents were Andezi Katz and Linzya; his maternal grandparents were  Herman Kraut and Ester Malka. He had two sisters named Tamara Celina and Ana Andezia.  He was the youngest of the three children.  He died  due to Holocaust at the age of 4 in 1943.
