Julius was born in 1911.  Julius' father was Max (Malek) Glassner and his mother was Klara Ziffer.  His paternal grandparents were Israel Glassner and Annie Walfenhaut; his maternal grandparents were Yaakov Zvi Ziffer and Hannah  Yenta (Anchy) Rosenberg. He had a sister named Yetta.  He was the younger of the two children.
