Morris was born in 1892 in Podhajce, East Galicia, Austro Hungary.1   Morris' father was Josef Salmon Bezen and his mother was Sime Freundlich.  His paternal grandparents were Iro  Ozyasz Bezen and Beile; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Zeinwel Freundlich and Estera Blima. He had two brothers named Zeinwel and Saul.  He was the youngest of the three children.
