Lawson was born in 1864 in Bramley Leeds Yorkshire.1   Lawson's father was Robert Pullan and his mother is Susannah Oddy.  His paternal grandparents are Robert Pullan and Elizabeth (Pullan); his maternal grandfather was Welfit Oddy and his maternal grandmother is Sarah (Oddy). He had five brothers and three sisters, named Holmes, Joseph A, Stephen, John, Welfit O, Rose A, Elizabeth Oddy and Sarah A.  He was the third oldest of the nine children.  He died at the age of 51 in 1915 in Bramley Leeds Yorkshire.2
