Edith was born in 1882 in Germany.1   Edith's father was Otto William Gerngrosse and her mother was Carolina\Lena (Gerngrosse). She had a brother and three sisters, named Otto Lutwick M, Amanda, Eliza\Lousa and Rose.  She is the oldest of the five children.
