William Findell

  • From information on the IGI the Sarah Eaton who married William Findell could be either:
    a) Sarah Eaton bap 25 DEC 1737 Saint Peter, Saint Albans dau of  John Eaton, no mother given.
    b) Sarah Eaton bap 11 MAY 1739 Chipping Barnet dau of John Eaton and Sarah.
    c) Sarah Eaton bap 25 AUG 1743 Welwyn, Hertford dau of John Eaton, no mother given.
    
    Interestingly all their fathers are John.
    It is possible that as she was married in St Albans she was also born there, so the one born 1737 is a definite candidate.
    the one born 1739 is a possibility, the one born 1843 may be a bit young but not ruled out.
    A John Eaton married Mary Spufford 4 Nov 1724 in St Albans.
    But the children of John Eaton in St Albans are born 1733, 1735, 1737, 1739, 1741 and 1744 which leads me to think that there is another marriage nearer to 1733 or more children elsewhere to fill in the 1724 to 1733 gap.
    If the 1724 marriage is the right John then he could be one of 3 Johns.
    Don't yet know how I am going to manage to establish who she was or get the Eaton line traced.
    I can't find a connection between Eaton and Deamer or Nicholls no marriages on the IGI.
