Charles was born about 1814 in Gillingham Kent.  Charles' father was John Walker (Sail Maker) and his mother was Elizabeth White.  His paternal grandparents were John Walker and Elizabeth Deane. He had four brothers and two sisters, named James, Henry, George, Richard, Ann and Martha.
