Florence was born on January 13th, 1858 in Alpha Terrace Fisher St Barking and her christening took place on February 28th, 1858 at St Margaret's  Church Barking.1   Florence's father was Alexander Joseph Pollard (Fisherman) and her mother was Emma Newman.  Her paternal grandparents were James Pollard (net maker Fisherman) and Jane Malpas; her maternal grandparents were John of Bromley Newman (Fisherman) and Sarah Ann Dixon (of Barking). She had a half-brother named Alexander.  She died at the age of 63 in March 1921 in Grimsby.  The funeral took place in March 1921 in Grimsby.  She was buried in March 1921 in Grimsby.2
