George was born on May 1st, 1842 in Barking Essex and his christening took place on March 8th, 1842 at St Margaret's Barking.1  George's father was William  Henry Hart (Ag Labourer) and his mother was Ann Lodge (St Pancras SomerT).  His paternal grandparents were Henry Hart (Baker -  Grave 247) and Mary Wilson (Baker - grave 247); his maternal grandparents were William Lodge (Fishmonger) and Ann Abbott. He had four brothers and four sisters, named William, John, Obediah, James, Ann, Mary, Elizabeth and Emma.  He was the third youngest of the nine children.
