Thomas was born about 1838 in Upper Tysoe Warwickshire.  Thomas' father was Daniel  Hancox (Lab b Tysoe Warwickshire) and his mother was Miria (b Long Compton Warwick). He had two brothers and two sisters, named George, Daniel, Mary and Harriot.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died about 1851 in Upper Tysoe Warwickshire.
