Clement was born about April 1697 in Romford Essex and his christening took place on April 20th, 1697 at St Edwards Romford.1   Clement's father was Eleazer Hambleton (A Pipemaker -Will PCC 11/989) and his mother was Susanna Eta (of Hornchurch).  His paternal grandparents were John Hambleton (d Barking) and ?. He had a sister named Susanna.  He was the younger of the two children.
