Mary was born about 1850 in Romford Essex.  Mary's father was Timothy Farren (shoemaker - Cordwainer b Colchester) and her mother was Elizabeth Bennett (b Ilford).  Her paternal grandfather was Joseph Farren (Cordwainer) and her paternal grandmother is <Unknown>. She had a brother named George.  She was the older of the two children.
