Irene was born on July 29th, 1899 in Brooklyn (Kings County), New York City, NY.1   Irene's father was Obed Trill and her mother was Mary A. A. Bowler.  Her paternal grandparents were Obadiah Trill and Charlotte Boyce; her maternal grandparents were James Bowler and Julia. She had a brother and four sisters, named Edward, Eliza, Loretta, Mary and Edna.  She was the fourth oldest of the six children.  She died at the age of 80 in September 1979.2
