Ruth's father was John Weaver Hollahan and her mother was Florence Towney. Her paternal grandparents were Harry Lovett Hollahan and Elizabeth. She had two brothers and two sisters, named George, Jack, Eva and Floss. She was the second oldest of the five children. She died from cancer, Metastatic Breast Carcinoma, at the age of 55 on November 10th, 1979 at the Abington Memorial Hospital. Her burial was at the Neshaminy-Warwick Presbyterian Cemetery.²³
