    not Jacob's sister?  CMB exchange w/Kay Cynamon 1/2008:  CMB exchange w/Kay Cynamon 1/2008:  Do you have any idea of the names of some of
    Jacob's 8 siblings? Jacob's arrival record refers to
    a brother living in New York. My working hypothesis
    is that my great-grandmother Sara was one of the sibs.
    here are the Rosenfelds, in birth order:  Sam, Jacob, Anna, Ike, Rose, Ben, Gert, Lou, Frank    ( sorry, no Sara)

    Isaac Bulkin married Sarah Rosenfeld, whose patronymic may have been Jaroslavna.  On his Social Security registration, Isaac's son Simon gave his mother's name as "Rosenfelt, while David spelled it "Rosenfield" on his own.  On David's 1922 marriage certificate, he gave his mother's maiden name as "Firt." (The name Fird can be found in the 1911-12 Vsia Rossiia business director.)
    
    Shirley 4/05:  "I know lthat my paternal grandparents starved to death in the basement of a church during the pogroms in Russia right after World War !. They had been taken care of by the Gentile community until then."
