    After Joseph's death, Anna (Prentice) Champlin married (2nd) Elnathan Hatch of East Haddam, Connecticut. The wedding ceremony, which took place in the Congregational Church of North Stonington, Connecticut on June 8, 1794 was conducted by Reverend Henry Channing. The record of this marriage can be found in the log of the 1st Congregational Church of New London. Elnathan, son of Nathan Hatch and Thankful Tucker, was born at East Haddam, Connecticut and had previously been married to Silence Hungerford.
    
    Elnathan Hatch was lost at sea c1803 and Anna then removed to Ohio with her stepson Ebenezer Champlin where she married (3rd) Judge Gilbert Devol of Marietta (Washington County) Ohio. Gilbert, son of Jonathan Devol (1711-1782) and Priscilla Allen (    -1776) whom he married in 1738, was born in 1740 and died in 1824. His first wife was Ruth (Brown) Howland and they had a son, Wanton Devol (1762-1812) who married (in 1788) Sally Lake (1770-1861). Walton and Sally were the parents of Alpha Devol who married Nancy Champlin - daughter of Anna (Prentice) (Champlin) (Hatch) Devol!
