Martha was born in 1875. Martha's father was Thomas Brewster and her mother was Christina G Galloway.  Her paternal grandparents were Robert  [Dromore] Brewster and Mary Boyd. She had four brothers and three sisters, named Robert, John, James, William Boyd, Sarah, Jannet Gray and Elizabeth.  She was the second oldest of the eight children. She had two half-sisters named Margaret and Mary.
