John's father was James [1859, 1897 - Ballytaggart] Brewster and his mother was Rachel Kennedy. His paternal grandparents were Robert Bruster and Sarah "Sallie" [1860 - Philly] Barr. He had two brothers and two sisters, named James, William, Sarah and Rachel.Death Notes
This is the only John Brewster who fits the bill in Civil Records (of Deaths) - someone born near to the age of James in the 1840s and died after James went to Landhead (he was there for the 1901 Census) and before the 1901 Census in Ballintaggart:

General Notes
David,
Ballytaggart is the next townland to Dromore Co. Londonderry. I recall a conversation between Mary Brewster of Dromore and our father in which she stated that grandfather’s brother also named John and who never married remained at Ballytaggert after grandfather James moved to Landhead, Ballymoney.

David Brewster's father's tree says he was married to an Unknown Taggart. Found marriage cert for a John Brewster andan Eliza Taggart plus the birth of a Mary, which all fits though they lived in Coleraine (Society Street.)
No sign of them in the 1901 Census.
