IN HER NINETIETH YEAR - On Sunday the death occurred at her home in Old Town somewhat unexpectedly at the last, of Mrs Helen Thomson, widow of the late Mr Andrew Thomson. She was in her ninetieth year. She survived her husband by eighteen years. Coming from the Falkirk direction about 1863, she had resided in Broxburn continuously for the long period of close on 70 years. She was a staunch Free Church woman, and attended the Free Church in Broxburn during the ministries of the Revs. Alexander Luke, Geo. Sinclair, Robert Erskine and (after the union with the United Presbyterian Church) Peter Lockhart. She was known as a very sagacious woman. She had a family of twelve, of whom eight, at least, survive.
