Sederunt. Rev. Robt. Erskine, Moderator  & messrs. Thorburn, Rae, Lynch, D. Foster, J. Foster, McCleary, Gerrard, Ross, Dixon, Elders.

The minutes of the previous meeting was read & approved. The Moderator informed that Mr Andrew Thomson, our Session Clerk, had passed away on the 4th of this month. The Session unanimously adopted a minute of appreciation & sympathy as follows, -
”The session desires to place on record their sense of the loss which they and the congregation have sustained in the death of Mr. Andrew Thomson, Session Clerk. Mr. Thomson was one of the oldest, if not the very oldest member of the Church, and for a long number of years he identified himself very closely with various departments of the Church's work. He had been an Elder for 22 years, and during 17 of these he had filled the office of Clerk to the Session. For a number of years he had also taken an active part in the work of the Sabbath School, and for 14 years till his advancing years  caused him reluctantly to confine his energies a little, he had been Treasurer of the Sustentation & Central Funds. He had been diligent & exemplary in the discharge of these various duties, and no less exemplary in his regular attendance at all meetings in connection with the Session & the Congregation, where his presence & help were much valued. The Session desires to to convey their deep sympathy to Mrs. Thomson & her family in their great and sore bereavement, and prays that she & they may be sustained and guided by the God of all grace, & they instruct the Moderator to convey this  expression of their regard & esteem & sense of loss to Mrs. Thomson.”
