Matthew was born in 1838 in Donegal and his baptism.⁹

  • James and Matthew are probably brothers, as Matthew's son Joseph reports the death of several of his cousins, the children of James.

He died due to heart disease, Angina pectoris, cardiac failure, at the age of 75 on October 4th, 1913 in Dromore townland.  He was buried in Raphoe.^10 11 12
