EWART, JAMES - Age 91, formerly of Brooklyn, passed away January 23, 2009, at Highland Home in Jackson. Jim was born on July 9, 1917 in Detroit, MI, the son of Willard and Margaret (Towers) Ewart. He married Myrtle Druce on April 5, 1941 in Detroit, and she preceded him in death in 2008. Jim served as a pilot in the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II. He enjoyed traveling and camping and liked to keep active with gardening and woodworking. Jim was employed by L.J. Beal & Son of Brooklyn as a General Manager until his retirement in 1982. Mr. Ewart is survived by his children, Rollie (Jeannine) of Traverse City, MI, and Elaine (Jack) Shaw of Belleville; four grandchildren, Ryan, Joshua, Jarrod, and Mikaela; four great-grandchildren; and sister, Mary Jane Dean of Oakland, CA; sister-in-law, Grace Ewart of Farmington Hills, MI; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bill; brothers-in-law, Norm Druce and Don Dean. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 24, 2009 from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. at the Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Braun Chapel. Interment Jefferson Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be given to your local Humane Society

Myrtle Ivy Druce Ewart Age 90, of brooklyn,passed away Friday,Sept 19,2008 at Arbor Woods Assisted Living. She was born on October 10,1917 in Canada, the daughter of Alfred and Myrtle Druce. Myrtle married James T. Ewart om April 5,1941 in Detroit and he survies. She enjoyed animals,gardening,knotting, crocheting,and spending time with her family. Besides her husband,Mrs. Ewart is survived by her children,Rollie (Jeannie) of Traverse City and Elaine (Jack) Shaw of Belleville; four grandchildren, Josh,Ryan,Jarrod,and Mikaela; four great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law,Mary Jane (Don) Dean of Oakland,CA. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. at the Borek Jennings Funeral Home,Braun Chapel. Interment Jefferson Cemetary.
