Sarah's father was Alexander Walker and her mother was Fanny Eliza Wray. Her maternal grandparents were Samuel Wray and Sarah Davis. She had a brother and four sisters, named Samuel, Maggie, Mary, Rebecca and Fanny. She died at the age of 60 in 1951 in Greenock.
