Rebecca's father was James Steen and her mother was Jane. She had a brother and four sisters, named James, Catherine, Rachel, Margaret and Mary.  She was the third oldest of the six children.  She died due to natural causes or old age, senile decay, 1 year, at the age of 84 on April 10th, 1915 in Treankeel.  She was buried in Conwal.¹
