Flora's father was Andrew George William Rennie and her mother was Elizabeth (Bessie) Wilson Douglas Hope. Her paternal grandparents were John Rennie and Isabella Inglis Smith. She had two brothers and a sister, named Jack, Andy and Evelyn. She was the second youngest of the four children. She died at the age of 65 in 1955 in Glasgow.
