Jane's father was John Louden and her mother was Janet Cockburn.  Her paternal grandparents were William Louden and Julian Johnston. She had a brother and a sister, named William and Janet.  She was the youngest of the three children.  She died at the age of 83 in 1941 in Edinburgh.
