GILCHRIST, Philip T. was born in Castle View, Stanwix. Son of Geo. Gilchrist, retired Manchester Bank Manager, and Jane Helen, daughter of Philip Thomson, one of the seven founders of Anti-Corn Law League.
Education
Studied at Queenwood College, Hampshire.
Career
After some years in Calico-Printing business, Leigh and Gilchrist, studied under Tom Mostyn. For many years a member of Manchester Athenaeum Graphic Club, becoming Vice-President in 1896 and retiring from the club in 1903. Studied also at the classes of Manchester Academy of Fine Arts.
First exhibited in R. A. 1900. Member of Manchester Academy of Fine Arts, Liverpool Academy of Fine Arts, Imperial Arts League, Southport Art Association. Moderator of Synod Presbyterian Church of England, 1010-1011.

Royal Society of British Artists 1906.

Philip's father was
