Helen's father was John Brash and her mother was Helen Wright.  Her paternal grandparents were David Brash and Agnes Henderson. She had two brothers and a sister, named David, Thomas and Joan.  She was the second youngest of the four children.  She died at the age of 81 on February 22nd, 1929 in Dumfries.
