George BROWN

George was born in 1819 in Whitby, North Yorkshire, England.¹

Birth Notes
- Birth dates from IGI Marriage. BMD ref:- Whitby 24 571 Mar 1/4 1846

George's father was Joseph BROWN and his mother was Eleanor STAINTHORP. His paternal grandparents were William BROWN and Ann HUMBLE; his maternal grandparents were Francis STAINTHORP and Lucy SMITH. He had five brothers and four sisters, named William, Joseph, Henry, Robert, John, Eleanor, Lucy, Francis and Mary Jane. He was the fourth oldest of the ten children.²

Death Notes
- In 1851 the family were living at No.1 Church Street, Whitby. George died sometime after the birth of Joseph Henry and the census of 1861. There is a possible BMD ref:- Whitby 9d 294 Dec 1/4 1857 whic> h could be him. In 1861 the family were living at No 10 West Terrace.
